Why did you and your fellow WCurve models decide to create a charity? What are your goals for C4C?

We all realize how blessed we are to have the jobs that we do and we wanted to give back what we had received. It’s all about paying It forward. Our goal is to unite the entire plus size community for causes that are bigger than the petty stuff that happens in fashion from time to time.

Tell us about the two charities C4C chose to sponsor this year? and why did C4C chose them to sponsor.

The first charity is The Komera Project which is a non-profit organization that advances secondary education in Rwanda by providing both mentorship and financial support to girls for whom secondary education is otherwise not possible.  The Komera Project is founded on the understanding that as girls continue their education, they improve their earning potential, their health and their sense of self-worth thereby enabling them to break the bonds of poverty.  For more information visit www.komeraproject.org.

Hardy Girls/Healthy Women is the second and is a non- profit organization dedicated to the health and well being of girls and women with the vision that all girls and women experience equality, independence and safety in their everyday lives. Many of the organization’s national programs have focused on self- esteem and other internal, psychological issues. Ultimately,Hardy Girls, Healthy Women seeks to create opportunities, develop programs and provide services that empower girls and women.  For more information visit www.hghw.org.

We had so many causes we wanted to support but we all voted and decided these two would be the best to start us off. We want to empower women all over the world one little girl at a time.

Your role at C4C is “C4C Girl With The Model Behavior” what does this involve?

I’m going to be the main blogger for the Curves for Change website documenting the strides we are all taking to better the world through our charity as well as other various acts.

How can people who can’t make it to the fundraiser this Thursday get involved with C4C?

You can go online to www.CurvesforChange.com and click donate to donate money or to be a part of the 5K run/walk on November 20,2010.

Visit Lizzie’s Curves For Change Blog and don’t forget to RSVP for this Thursday.
